a model of my headphones, modelled in 3ds max and rendered in v-ray advanced. music is a fairly huge part of my life - and headphones come hand in hand with that. these are my lifeline, whenever i'm away from my computer :)

the model itself took around 10 hours to get right. there was a LOT of fiddly stuff to get right, including a very nice "sony" boolean on the outerside of the headband :)

materials took around 2 hours, the render took 2 to setup as well. (materials and render were worked at the same time)

render itself took 4 hours 35 minutes.

-e- i have now revisited this render, i have modelled the fateful jack properly, and improved the materials. i have also added a simple texture to the headphones. 4 hours and 50 minutes later, i am comfortable with the render now :) -e-

Personally, I think it's stunning. Exceptionally realistic and I can really see the changes you made to the jack.

As I've said too, amazing render. The materials/ textures and... it's just amazing
A lot of people would be lucky to get a PHOTO of headphones looking this good

Still unsure about the jack. The cuts seem too deep, and the whole thing still seems disproportional. But I've never seen yours, so I don't know.
The rest is simply gorgeous. 9/10 (because I'm a cunt about your jack.)

pfft, screw you, the jack is fine - i fear it's the angle/perspective/lense used in the shot which makes it look so weird. as you say, you've not seen mine - so i guess i won't be able to convince you ;) thanks though!
