Description
A Norton ES2... more or less - there are so many variations, mods and types, that it's a bit of an amalgimation. Nonetheless, overall it's an ES2.
It's pretty accurate... though the engine I largely made up as I went along - hundreds of reference pictures, but I suspect it's lacking quite a few parts - but I like how it looks, and it's not an engineering diagram so what the hell!
This is the lighting setup I'll be using for this section of my reel, the render won't be this big, and a couple of materials need some tweaking, but this is more or less it.
As far as information regarding the model, for those who are interested:
I made it entirely in Maya 2008, rendered with Mental Ray. The render took 02:13 (minutes). It's lit with an HDRI map, one spotlight directly above the bike, and what is essentially a lightbox to the right of the bike, angled at 45 degrees.
The model has 512,483 faces. It was all polygon-subdivision modelling; simple in theory, but a lot of hard work.
Incidentally, the HDRI map is from a set very kindly uploaded by smashmethod:
